"Mum said to me when I had chicken pocks, 'don't scratch! you will get scars.' It's not that I wanted scars or that I wanted to defy her, I'm just not sure I believed her. So, I chose one pock, right at the top of my nose, in between my eyebrows and decided I would only scratch that one to see if it was true. She was right of course, and why I didn't choose my leg or some other less prominent place, you'll have to ask childhood Clare."
